39th Annual Hemingway Days to Honor Ernest in Key West!

From July 16 – 21, 2019, the Florida Keys’ Key West will witness flocks of visitors coming from various corners of the world to participate in a look-alike contest, readings and book signings, 5k run and paddleboard race, a three-day marlin fishing tournament, a Key West style running of the bulls, and other prominent exhibits & literary events. The event Annual Hemingway Days honors the Pulitzer Prize-winning author and the American literary giant - Ernest Hemingway – who lived and penned down on this island for most of the 1930s.

The legendary American writer, novelist, and journalist left a legacy in Key West. Come, witness, and celebrate that legacy, his lifestyle, and the literary gifts he left. During Hemingway Days, Ernest Hemingway’s literary prowess and his exuberant lifestyle are saluted.

Hemingway Look-Alike Contest

Held at Sloppy Joe’s Bar, the contest, hosted by the Hemingway Look-Alike Society, attracts thousands of participants/ admirers.

Hemingway 5k Sunset Run/Walk & Paddleboard Race

The registration for the race will begin at 3 p.m. at the Southernmost Beach Café, outside on the Beach, Duval Street. The walk/ run will start at 5.30 p.m. The award party will be held between 8 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.
