When was the last time you planned a summer vacation?
“What – summer vacation? Who wants to get sweaty and deal with the scorching heat?”
If you give such reactions upon hearing the phrase ‘summer vacation’, I’m sure you have not been to Florida. It is the only place that I can always look up to have some amazing outdoor fun.
Almost 300 days of sunshine, Florida is rightly called the Sunshine State. With temperatures hovering around 80’s and 90’s F, you would love to spend the day on the beach, at the water parks, or get busy exploring the sea life by doing scuba diving and snorkeling. Vacationers have a myriad of options to choose from; however, I’ve picked some of the top-most summer destinations in Florida just for you.
Panama City Beach
Flagship beaches, adventure beach activities, swanky restaurants offering fresh seafood, cozy cafes, and state parks, I would recommend Panama City Beach for all the sun-seekers and seafood lovers. The city enjoys around 320 days of sunshine per year, thus making a perfect summer vacation destination in the state. This northwest waterfront town boasts 27 miles of pristine sandy beaches. Besides the calm, crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the beach town has great hiking trails and fishing piers.
Florida Keys
After exploring the northwest region, head to the south for the Florida Keys. Situated at the southernmost tip of the United States, the Florida Keys is a network of tropical islands spreading about 120 miles, between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Here, you may like to get immersed in scuba diving, boating, fishing, snorkeling, and numerous other waters sports. Have enough of them? I would urge you to visit Mallory Square’s nightly Sunset Celebration, Duval’s Street’s bars, the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum.
Destin
Destin is widely recognized for its golf courses and immaculate Gulf of Mexico beaches. Apart from that, one would love to spend quality time at the Destin Harbor Boardwalk. Once a small fishing hamlet, Destin is now a popular vacation hotspot with emerald green waters and sugary white sandy beaches. Go hiking in the meandering nature trails run through the dunes of Henderson Beach State Park and stumble upon the gorgeous coastline fringed with oak and pine trees sheltering wildlife.
Orlando
Nicknamed as “The City Beautiful”, Orlando, located in Central Florida, is one of the world’s major travel destinations. Two of its most popular attractions – the Universal Orlando Resort opened in 1990 and the Walt Disney World opened in 1971 by the Walt Disney Company – attract millions of visitors every year. A famous summer vacation destination the city brags about several amusement and theme parks. Parks like The Magic Kingdom and Epcot will keep the little champs busy all through the day.
Miami
Oh, the irresistible Miami! Spectacular beaches backed by vibrant nightlife, who can say ‘NO’ to South Beach (stunning glamorous scene). One of the main reasons why I suggest Miami to my fellow travelers is that no matter whether you are looking for a family-friendly spot lined with bars and cafes or nature’s reserve, Miami will not disappoint you for sure. Shopping, nightlife, beaches, attractions, arts & culture, outdoor activities, restaurants, and stylish Miami vacation rentals – what more you could ask for?
Thinking of a summer vacation in Florida without breaking the bank? The Sunshine State has splendid beaches and beautiful museums that can be explored on a shoestring budget. Not only will you be blessed with glorious sunshine without a hefty price tag, but also a myriad of affordable vacation rentals.
Why not book suitable Florida holiday rentals and enjoy freedom as well as a plethora of indoor as well as outdoor activities? Summer vacation sounds fun, yeah?
